Q

Pietro e Paolo.

T

this course is open to all those who already play the cornetto and who want to perfect and deepen their knowledge of the instrument, but also to those who would like to start playing it and need help and advice. And the help, in this case, is really great, since the teacher also accepts instrumentalists who come from other wind instruments and who are interested in experimenting with this wonderful instrument for the first time, and puts at their disposal, on loan, some instruments of his own manufacture. Even cornet players who already have their own instrument, but not at 492 Hz (that is, capable of playing with the famous and fantastic Vincenzo Colombo organ in Valvasone), will be able to borrow a suitable instrument from the teacher.

The course is open to cornet players of any level. Both the fundamental technical aspects, such as the optimal production of sound, the articulations, the fingerings, and the aspects more related to interpretation will be dealt with, including diminutions, a topic to which particular emphasis will be given.

Another aspect of fundamental importance will consist in being able to perform the repertoire intended for an ensemble of cornets and trombones (with the Historical Trombone class) and with the support of the organ. Each day the teacher of the Organ class will dedicate a part of his time to conduct the ensemble of the winds of the Valvasone classes.

The students are allowed to bring the pieces they prefer and in particular (but not exclusively) pieces that involve the instruments of the other courses of ILMAestate (see the programmes of the other courses), so that they can also attend the workshops of ensemble music.

In case the students cannot find suitable music, they can contact the teacher directly at the ILMA email address after enrolling and ask for the needed music.

Prerequisites to attend the course

All the students who wish to attend the class will be accepted subject to availability of places and at the discretion of the teacher
