Mozart e Beethoven al fortepiano

l Corso di fortepiano è aperto a tutti coloro che sono interessati ad un approccio della letteratura comunemente definita pianistica a cavallo tra il XVIII e XIX secolo con uno strumento storico.

Gli autori privilegiati saranno F. J. Haydn e soprattutto W. A. Mozart e L. van Beethoven, sia per il repertorio solistico sia per il repertorio cameristico. Si tenga presente che per Beethoven il repertorio preso in considerazione non potrà superare l’anno intorno al 1805 date le caratteristiche degli strumenti utilizzati per il corso.

Lo strumento principale è uno Schantz originale del 1805 (uno dei 60 strumenti ancora esistenti al mondo), di proprietà del docente. Lo strumento, mostrato dalla foto qui sotto, è dotato di due ginocchiere e registro di fagotto. Oltre allo Schantz sarà disponibile una copia di Nanette Streicher del 1800 circa, anch'essa con 2 ginocchiere. Questo secondo strumento sarà collocato in una sala diversa e consentirà agli studenti di studiare a turno sia durante sia dopo l'orario di lezione. Entrambi gli strumenti sono dotati della cosiddetta "meccanica viennese".

Prerequisiti per partecipare al corso

In via orientativa, è consigliabile una preparazione corrispondente ad un ottavo anno del corso ordinario di pianoforte principale. Naturalmente potranno iscriversi anche studenti d’organo e di clavicembalo. Saranno accettati tutti gli iscritti fino ad esaurimento dei posti disponibili, a discrezione del docente.

“The other instrument”
Mozart e Beethoven on fortepiano

he fortepiano course is open to anyone who is interested in an approach to the commonly defined  literature for piano between the 18th and the 19th century performed with a historical instrument.
The favoured authors will be F. J. Haydn and above all W. A. Mozart and L. van Beethoven, both for their soloistic and chamber repertoire. As far as Beethoven is concerned, only the repertoire before 1805 will be taken into consideration according to the characteristics of the instruments which will be used in this course. 
The instrument used in the course is an original Schantz of 1805 (one of the 60 still existing instruments in the world), owned by the teacher. The instrument has two knee levers and bassoon register (see picture). A copy of a Nanette Streicher of 1800, also with two knee levers, will be also available in addition to the Schantz. The Nanette Streicher will be placed in a different room so that the students will be able to practise in turn both during and after the lesson. Both instruments have the so called “viennese mechanics”.

Prerequisites to attend the course

In general, students should have a preparation corresponding to the eight year of an common course of piano. Students of organ and harpsichord can also enrol in this course.

All the students who wish to attend the class will be accepted subject to availability of places and at the discretion of the teacher.
